Mount Nittany Health is partnering with Birthly to offer free access to virtual childbirth education classes, allowing patients to access valuable educational resources in the comfort of their own homes at no additional cost. The free childbirth classes are offered live and online, taught by certified and experienced childbirth educators who are passionate about childbirth education and believe in evidence-based teaching. Birthly’s instructors strive to offer expectant parents a roadmap and the latest information surrounding pregnancy, delivery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.

Classes offered include:

  • Early Pregnancy Preparations
  • Prenatal Education Bootcamp (English and Spanish)
  • Coping and Comfort
  • Breastfeeding 101 (English and Spanish)
  • Newborn Care (English and Spanish)

Each class is offered multiple times a month, so patients have more flexibility in choosing a time that fits their schedule and can connect from the comfort of their own homes.

These complimentary childbirth classes are available to patients who plan to deliver at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Pa.

Each year the Joseph V. and Suzanne P. Paterno Women and Children’s Services Unit welcomes more than 1,200 new babies. The unit is the largest of its kind in the region, and combines state-of-the-art technology and clinical spaces with modern design and family-centered comforts that match Mount Nittany Health’s reputation for clinical excellence.

In 2023, Newsweek named Mount Nittany Medical Center as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals. This recognition underscores the excellent care and support provided to expectant mothers and their families by Mount Nittany Health's dedicated Women and Children's Services Unit.
