Thank You Doctors
March 30th is National Doctors’ Day, which is a wonderful opportunity to offer our deepest appreciation to our dedicated physicians. This annual event serves as a poignant reminder of the incredible contributions made by doctors worldwide, and it is with great pride that I recognize the more than 400 physicians who care for patients in 30+ medical specialties at our 19 practices and at the Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Our doctors provide remarkable care each and every day, and they embody the highest standards of excellence in patient safety and care. They safeguard and improve the well-being of our community, demonstrating incomparable expertise and compassion during every interaction.
In honor of Doctors’ Day, I wish to share the touching story of Jeffrey Jones, which illustrates the profound impact our doctors have on the lives of our patients. After months of not feeling well, Jeff was experiencing symptoms so severe that he had to go to the Emergency Department on Christmas Eve. Following testing, he was admitted to the Medical Center and assigned to the care of Sarah Bork, MD, Mount Nittany Health Hospitalist team. Dr. Bork discovered Jeff had Babesiosis, a difficult to diagnose, tickborne parasite that causes a range of severe flu-like symptoms. The exceptional care he received led to proper treatment, recovery, and Jeff regaining a sense of normalcy in his life. Jeff rated the care he received at Mount Nittany Medical Center as a 100 on a scale of 1 to 10. His story underscores the importance of the compassionate and expert care provided by our physicians each day. You can read his story in its entirety here.
As we celebrate Doctors’ Day, we have thank you cards available for patients and employees who wish to express their gratitude and honor our remarkable physicians. In addition, we are inviting grateful patients to make a gift in honor of the physicians who have made a difference in their lives. The funds raised from this special appeal, featuring Jeff’s story, will support our new Patient Tower.
