A Letter From CEO Steve Brown: Thank You

Dear Friends,I want to personally thank all of you who devoted countless hours of hard work to help make the opening of our east wing such a resounding success. My appreciation extends to all who attended our opening events on July 30 and 31, and to the staff who gave their time to host these outstanding events. First, I would like to thank the more than 1,000 people who came by on Saturday, July 31. I know you lead busy lives and have so much to do, but still you took time to come and see the new rooms, meet our staff, ask important questions and tell us what you thought. For all that, we are very grateful. You are the reason we make investments such as this; to make sure your care is right for you, right for your family and always here when you need it. You showed us how much you cared by coming to see the new rooms on a warm summer morning. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to each of you. Next, I would like to thank the employees at Mount Nittany Medical Center, who like they do every day, went above and beyond for this project. The new patient tower is a milestone for this organization, a first step toward many great things to come for Mount Nittany. This is an achievement to be proud of and one that we are thrilled to share with our community. Because of their countless hours of hard work, consistently going above and beyond the call, we now have a fantastic new building, and we had several wonderful events to celebrate the opening of the facility. It was incredibly impressive how many employees volunteered their time for these celebrations. There is never a shortage of employees going the extra mile to welcome friends and neighbors to Mount Nittany. And, I would like to thank you, our generous community, once again for the heartfelt gifts that you gave to support this building project and other Medical Center initiatives; more than $12.5 million in all. That’s a powerful expression of faith and trust in Mount Nittany to help us take this community’s healthcare to the next level. We really came together to achieve something great with this project, and I look forward to all the exciting things we can do together in the future. In case you were wondering, the new rooms are now open and in use. We admitted our first patient Tuesday, August 3, and more and more ever since. In closing, thank you again for sharing your time and talents with us, and I wish you all good health. But in the event that you do need us, please know that we are here to care for you today, tomorrow and in the future. Mount Nittany really is moving forward, and we are so pleased to be able to share it with you. With deepest gratitude, Steve Steve Brown, President and Chief Executive Officer
