Eating healthy, balanced meals isn't always an easy task, but dietitians at Mount Nittany Health can help you find the best ways to nourish your body.
Registered Dietitians offer inpatient nutrition screening, assessment and education. Outpatient nutrition education is available by appointment.
A Registered Dietitian is a food and nutrition expert who has met the minimum academic and professional requirements to qualify for the credential "RD." In addition to RD credentialing, many states have regulatory laws for dietitians and nutrition practitioners. State requirements frequently are met through the same education and training required to become an RD.
Our dietitians not only encourage patients to eat healthier, but provide them with real tools to accomplish a significant lifestyle change. We provide information for food shopping, cooking, label reading as well as current nutrition guidelines from many professional organizations.
We are dedicated to helping patients improve their health and achieve their personal nutritional goals with specialized nutritional counseling in:
- Weight management
- Headache/migraine care
- Other neurological disorders
- Eating disorders
- Pediatric and adolescent nutrition
- Sports nutrition
- Nutrition support
Located at Mount Nittany Medical Center, outpatient services are available by appointment. A physician's referral is required, and you should call your insurance provider to determine coverage. To make an appointment, call the central scheduling office at 814.234.6106.
