Family & Friends

The Behavioral Health Services unit employs licensed psychiatric social workers, a certified recreation therapist, counselors and registered nurses. We know that behavioral health issues rarely affect just the patient we work with. Family and friends of our patients are often very concerned about their loved one's condition.

We believe that support and visitation are extremely important elements of the treatment process for our patients.

Family Therapy

We believe that family therapy is an important part of our client's overall treatment plan. We encourage family members to engage in this process as much as possible as part of stabilizing their loved one so the patient can move forward in the recovery process.

We also encourage familes to visit our section for patients to learn more about what their loved ones will be experiencing during their stay at our facility. In this section, we provide important information on what inpatients will need to bring and items they should leave at home.

Visitors are encouraged to visit during non-treatment times:

  • Monday through Friday, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Weekends and holidays, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • On occasion, alternate times can be arranged with the patient and the staff.

All visitors must be approved by the patient, and only three visitors are allowed per patient at any time. All visitors must check in with staff upon arrival and all items (clothing, personal items, gifts, etc.) brought for a patient must be given to staff for inspection to ensure the safety of the unit.

Visitors are not permitted to bring cell phones, cameras or recording devices; please leave these in the car or turn them over to a staff member at the nurses' station.

To ensure a confidential and therapeutic environment, visitors are encouraged to not share information they observe or hear on the unit with others.

Our caring, experienced staff members have written a number of articles on behavioral health topics that can be found by visiting our Life & Health section.
