Dr. Roy came into the room about 20 minutes late and apologized (I was a morning appt so I was surprised it was this late already). He acknowledged he hadn't had a chance to look at my file yet so he loaded it on the computer. He talked in simple-to-understand terms, despite my asking for more specificity and clarity on details, the latest scientific evidence, etc. He did not seem to have much guidance to offer and mostly asked how I'd like to approach the situation. While I appreciate that a patient ultimately makes decisions about their health, they should be *informed* decisions and I came to him trying to understand the pros/cons of different treatment options, what my options were, what considerations should drive those decisions. He did not seem interested in digging into that all and brushed most of my concerns away and gave me trite, simple advice. He mostly seemed content to just leave things be and schedule another appointment for a year from now. It felt like he rushed through in a few minutes so that he could catch up a bit on his tardy schedule. Extremely disappointing since I'm the one who lives with migraines and waited 6+ months for this appointment in the first place.
