Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Renu Joshi, MD, has joined Mount Nittany Health Endocrinology. Dr. Joshi will provide telehealth care to endocrinology patients, adding depth to Mount Nittany Health’s growing telehealth capabilities.

“I love patient care, and I treat each person like I would someone from my own family,” said Dr. Joshi. “To see a positive change in a patient’s life is inspiring, especially in diabetes, but also those with thyroid, osteoporosis and other endocrine issues.”

Dr. Joshi earned her MD from the King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, India, where she also completed a pediatric residency. She completed an internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She has extensive experience in endocrinology, diagnosing and treating hormonal and hormone-related disorders like diabetes and thyroid disease.

As a leader in her field, Dr. Joshi has launched innovative endocrinology training and treatment programs. Her creative thinking was instrumental during the Covid-19 pandemic. The virtual diabetes boot camp she started helped newly diagnosed diabetes patients receive valuable education to help them adapt to their new lifestyles. Dr. Joshi also implemented new blood glucose monitoring technology in patient rooms that allowed nurses to monitor patients without having to enter their rooms.

Dr. Joshi has two children, one a psychologist and the other a radiologist. When she isn't providing telehealth care, she enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, and hiking and has hiked many trails around the State College area.

Mount Nittany Health Endocrinology offers telehealth and in-person care at its State College (Park Avenue), Reedsville, Spring Mills, and Philipsburg locations. To schedule an appointment with Mount Nittany Health, call 814.689.3156 or visit mountnittany.org/endocrinology.
