Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Ryan Farley, PA-C, has joined Mount Nittany Health’s Pain Management team located at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Ryan previously practiced as a physician assistant in orthopedics in Lancaster and Hermitage, Pennsylvania. He also served in the US Army as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in battlefield trauma surgery.

“I treat patients like they are family members,” Ryan says. “And I consider how I want to be treated.

Pain management patients most commonly experience pain that outlasts the normal healing period following an accident or injury. Many patients have pain related to other conditions for which physical therapy, steroid therapy, or pain medication have not been enough to relieve their discomfort.

Healthcare providers generally don’t work for compliments or praise,” says Ryan. “But the best days come when I see a patient smile. Then I know I am making a difference to improve their quality of life.”

Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from Penn State University and after serving with distinction in the US Army, earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University.

“I’ve moved a lot but have spent most of my life in Pennsylvania. I got married recently and moved to the area. Through research and conversations, I learned that Mount Nittany Health was a great employer,” said Ryan. “When I found out there was a position in the pain management clinic, I pursued it.”

When he’s not practicing medicine at Mount Nittany Health, Ryan says he enjoys many hobbies in the outdoors and appreciates all that nature offers.

Mount Nittany Health’s Pain Management Center is an outpatient department operated by Mount Nittany Medical Center that treats about 2,500 patients each year.
