Just in time for the holiday season, Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the opening of its new gift shop on Monday, November 14, 2022, in the former location of the Nittany Grill on the main level of Mount Nittany Medical Center. Plus, the new gift shop will include a deluxe coffee bar with delicious grab-and-go snacks. The operational hours will be Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. It will be fully staffed by Mount Nittany Health’s generous volunteers.
After more than a year of planning, the joint gift and coffee shop venture was executed by Craig Hamilton, Executive Chef, Culinary Services, and his exceptional team, including Rexine Schrum, who will manage the new location. Rexine discussed the exciting occasion: “The gift shop presents a new opportunity for the hospital. It will provide a positive experience for our community while also helping to build morale internally.”
While the team’s main goal was to reopen the gift shop after its closure more than two years ago due to COVID-19, they are equally excited to learn about the wants and needs of guests and Mount Nittany Health team members. A suggestion box is located by the checkout counter and it will help guide retail, food and beverage offerings in the future.
The new gift shop is stocked with a variety of merchandise including Mount Nittany Health logoed apparel and accessories, puzzles, games, phone chargers, gifts for expectant parents and more. The concept and offerings were developed with patients and guests in mind.
Mount Nittany Health visitors and team members will also enjoy the small coffee shop where they can recharge with a quick refreshment. In addition to freshly ground coffee, cappuccino, cold brew and gourmet bottled beverages, unique grab-and-go snacks will also be available for purchase.
