June is National Men’s Health Month, and with just over a week left in the month, there's still time to raise awareness about men's healthcare. We encourage all men to adopt healthy lifestyle choices and to take control of their health.

Here are a few simple tips:

  • Get current on your checkups—preventable health problems can be treated better when they’re detected earlier. Make sure you’re up to date with this list from the Mayo Clinic.
  • Adjust your diet—try some new fruits or vegetables, cut back on alcohol, and consider your portions this month to develop healthier habits that could last a lifetime.
  • Exercise—even if it’s a walk around the block, getting outside and exercising can have lasting effects on your physical and mental health.

On average, men in the United States die five years earlier than women, and at higher rates—from heart disease, cancer, and unintentional injuries. National Men’s Health month is the perfect time to take control and get up to date on checkups.
