Specialties and Biography

Dr. Short earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her family medicine residency at UPMC Pinnacle in Harrisburg.

She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.

Her inspiration to become a healthcare provider did not come from one specific moment in time, Dr. Short says, but from all the moments when family or friends faced a health scare and turned to their primary care physician for guidance and reassurance. “The relationship they had with their family medicine physician inspired me to pursue a career in medicine.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Short says she enjoys spending most of her time outdoors taking advantage of the abundance of outdoor activities here in central Pennsylvania, as well as, taking the occasional trip to the beach. Most of all, she says, “I enjoy spending time with my husband and two beautiful children.”
