Neonatal Resuscitation Course - First Time Participant
The course format for NRP has changed significantly. Participants must study a text on their own and take an online exam prior to attending a scheduled NRP session below. These sessions are for skills practice, demonstration, mega code scenarios, and debriefing only. The time needed to accomplish these tasks will vary, but in general, participants should allow a minimum of 4 hours. Three sessions a year specifically target participants taking the course for the first time. These 8 hour sessions include more in-depth coverage and a full day of instruction, as well as orientation to the equipment used at the Medical Center.
- Sixth edition texts (publish date 2016) must be used and are available for sign-out in the Medical Center library. Participants who wish to purchase a copy of the book can do so through local retailers.
- An online exam is required by the AAP and must be completed within 30 days prior to taking the live NRP course. Instructions for accessing and completing the exam are forwarded to you after registering. You must present a printed certificate showing your exam completion date in order to attend the skills/megacode/debriefing session.
