COVID-19 Test Collection Site in conjunction with Penn State Health
In our continued efforts to protect our patients, employees and community from the spread of COVID-19, Mount Nittany Health is adding a new measure to collect patient samples for COVID-19 testing from our non-emergent Physician Group patients.
Patients: Please read all instructions carefully prior to arrival.
Patients should only make their way to the COVID-19 test collection site, located in the parking lot at Mount Nittany Health - Blue Course Drive when:
- They have a confirmed appointment time for the Mount Nittany Physician Group (MNPG) testing site by their MNPG or Penn State Health primary care physician (PCP) and
- have their cell phone with them. Patients who do not have both the required order and appointment timeslot will be referred out of the testing line. In order to be correctly registered, patients should also bring their insurance card and photo ID.
All potential patients enter from Ginger Way only and proceed through the drive thru test collection process. Patients should be driving or seated on the driver’s side of the car. Please allow for the process to take an hour; no public restrooms will be available during this time.
Patients will continue through the following three stations:
Station 1 – Greeting; a greeter will confirm that the patient has an appointment slot. Once confirmed, the patient will be directed to one of two slots in the registration area. Again, any patient who does not have both the required order and timeslot will be referred out of the testing line at this time.
Station 2 – Registration; once in the designated registration slot, a clerical person will register the individual patient via telephone. The dedicated telephone number will be provided. The patient will then be directed into a cue to go to the collection station to be tested/swabbed. All patients being swabbed must be sitting on the driver’s side of the car.
Station 3 – Collection (swab) – Once in the collection area, the patient will be swabbed and then head out of the collection site. The patient will be notified of their COVID 19 test results as soon as possible thereafter.
Mount Nittany Health continues to rigorously follow guidelines from the CDC, including how test samples are collected and the proper wearing of personal protective equipment by staff at this site.
