Tips for Ringing in the New Year Safely

If you are going to be consuming alcohol on New Year's Eve, see that you drink responsibly by adhering to the following tips:

  • Don't drink and drive. Arrange in advance to take a cab, ride with a designated driver or spend the night where you are until you are sober.
  • Monitor how much alcohol you consume, and make sure you do not have more than one glass of alcohol per hour.
  • Prevent dehydration and lessen the effects of any intoxicating intake by having a glass of water after every drink of alcohol.
  • Make sure you eat food throughout the night.
