New traffic pattern at Mount Nittany Medical Center

Beginning THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2014, the Hospital Drive loop road at Mount Nittany Medical Center will reopen with a modified traffic pattern:

  • To access the rear of the Medical Center (e.g., the Galen and Nancy Dreibelbis Auditorium entrance, Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion entrance, and parking lots C, D, and E), all traffic must turn LEFT at the “Y” onto Hospital Drive.
  •  After February 6, you will not be able to turn right at the “Y” and drive through the physician parking area to access the rear of the Medical Center.  The service drive leading from the physicians’ lot to parking lots C, D, and E will be closed.
Please note that, due to the next phase of the perioperative services expansion project, there are still eight to nine months of construction and renovation activities remaining. This will require occasional construction vehicles and pedestrian traffic along the loop road. Also, the construction entrance to the renovation area will be through the courtyard, located between the new building and the east wing.
Therefore, please use extreme CAUTION while traveling along the loop road, watching for pedestrian and construction traffic.  Additional stop signs will be placed near the perioperative services building to ensure the highest level of awareness.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
