Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the addition of Christina Catherine, MD, PhD, to Mount Nittany Physician Group Neurology.

“It’s important that my patients have a voice and that they feel heard,” shares Dr. Catherine. “I want them to know someone is listening to their story and is here to help.”

Dr. Catherine earned her bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering and mathematics, as well as, her Master of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned her doctorate in bioengineering from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, and her medical degree from the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

She served as a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of University of Maryland Institute for Systems Research distinguished professor, John S. Baras, PhD. Dr. Catherine specializes in women’s neurology, where her focus is on treating women with a neurological condition who are pregnant or considering pregnancy, as well as those in menopause and older, with conditions such as stroke or neuropathy.

“I’m excited to bring my passion for neurology – specifically women’s neurology – to Mount Nittany Physician Group,” Dr. Catherine says. “I hope to use what I’ve learned to positively impact my patients and the community.”
