Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Kevin Roe, DO, Mount Nittany Physician Group Nephrology, has been designated a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), and Fahima Nasreen, MD, has earned certification as a hypertension specialist from the American Society of Hypertension (ASH).
The FASN designation honors members of the Society who have distinguished themselves through excellence in practice or research. FASN status represents recognition of outstanding credentials, high professional achievements, commitment to the field and demonstrated scholarship.
Having joined Mount Nittany Physician Group in 2015, Dr. Roe obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, a part of the Crozer-Keystone Health System, and a residency in internal medicine—where he was selected as chief resident—and a fellowship in nephrology, both at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Nasreen’s ASH certification as a hypertension specialist signifies that she excels in all aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension. This prestigious certification recognizes physicians who have demonstrated expertise in treating patients with complex hypertension and associated disorders.
Dr. Nasreen joined Mount Nittany Physician Group Nephrology in 2014, and received her medical degree from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, University of Dhaka in Barisal, Bangladesh. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Easton Hospital in Easton, Pennsylvania, and her fellowship in nephrology at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.
