How Those with Diabetes Can Protect Their Eyes

Those with diabetes have a higher risk of developing eye problems. If you have diabetes, use the following tips to help to protect your eyes:
• Keep your blood glucose levels under control and in your target range by having proper insulin control and monitoring your diet and exercise.
• Maintain a healthy blood pressure and have your blood pressure checked by your physician four times a year.
• Get complete dilated eye exams each year.• Wear protective eyewear any time your eyes are exposed to UV light, even on cloudy days and during winter months.
