Mount Nittany Health is proud to announce Kimberly Kennedy, BSN, RN, medical/surgical/orthopedic unit, Mount Nittany Medical Center, as the DAISY award winner for February 2019.
Created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away from complications of an autoimmune disease in 1999, the DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international program designed to recognize the exceptional care of our nurses. As a system-wide program, nurses throughout Mount Nittany Health have the opportunity to be recognized with the DAISY award.
Kim’s nomination read in part, “I had major back surgery and was not used to being laid up. Kim always had a positive attitude when she came in my room and lifted my spirits. The second day I was having a bad day and she knew it. She asked how things were and when I told her about my concern, she took time and made the situation more comfortable and always checked in on me frequently. She changed my whole experience around and made my stay much more tolerable. She has the compassion that all nurses should have.”
Please join us in congratulating Kim on receiving this wonderful recognition!
