Expert Presents on Prevention of Osteoporosis

Mount Nittany Medical Center has announced the topics for the fall Family Medicine Seminar Series. As part of its partnership with Penn State University, healthcare lecturers will present monthly through November.
On September 17, Thomas Harrington, MD, assistant director of the department of rheumatology at Geisinger Medical Center will present “Primary and Secondary Prevention of Osteoporosis.”
Each evening in the series will begin with a buffet dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the lecture at 6:30 p.m. in the Galen and Nancy Dreibelbis Auditorium, located at entrance D. Both continuing medical education (CME) credit for physicians and continuing nurse education (CNE) credit are offered. The series is geared toward a broader audience, including community members, students, local and regional family physicians, pediatricians, internists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
The next seminar in the series will be held on October 15. Timothy Derstine, MD, of SunPointe Health, will discuss “Identifying and Managing Treatment-Resistant Depression.”
