Our Vision
As a regional medical center growing in scope and prominence, we integrate advances in healthcare and the skills of talented people to heal and cure, to provide compassionate care, to promote good health and wellbeing, to move life forward.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is a modern, 207-bed acute care facility housing both inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical services. As a leader in health and wellbeing, the Medical Center is continually enhancing facilities and services to bring advancements in patient care and improve the quality of life within the communities it serves. Formerly Centre Community Hospital, the organization officially began operating as Mount Nittany Medical Center on November 6, 2003.
A not-for-profit regional hospital located in State College, Pa., the Medical Center serves the residents of central Pennsylvania with a credentialed medical staff of more than 250 physicians in 42 specialties and subspecialties, as well as six physicians who are on our medical staff. In addition, the Medical Center employs about 1,300 skilled healthcare professionals and support staff. Volunteers contribute 68,000 hours of service annually.

Community Outreach
In 2008, Mount Nittany Medical Center contributed more than $3 million in care for patients who were either uninsured, under-insured or unable to pay. In addition, the Medical Staff and healthcare professionals volunteer thousands of hours to the community each year through health screenings, lecture series and support groups.

Mount Nittany Surgical Center
Mount Nittany Medical Center is affiliated with Mount Nittany Surgical Center, an advanced, ambulatory, state-of-the-art surgery center dedicated to providing the very best care to patients seeking elective, same-day surgical services. The Medical Center is also one of the founding members of the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.
Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center
In April 2006, leaders for The Pennsylvania State University, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Mount Nittany Medical Center signed an affiliation agreement to strengthen clinical care and provide additional resources for patients in the Centre County region. The agreement enhances the medical education and research efforts of the organizations and is a natural progression of the long-standing relationship between the three organizations.
