Mount Nittany Health Surgical Center employs both full-time and part-time registered nurses (RNs), all of whom are certified in basic life support. Many nurses are also trained in advanced certified life support, and several are certified in pediatric advanced life support. All surgical technicians are certified in basic life support.
Nurses at the Surgical Center are hired specifically for their experience in the area in which they will serve patients. Their varied backgrounds—including intensive care, recovery room (PACU), intravenous (IV) therapy and operating room nursing—make them well qualified to care for adults and children undergoing outpatient surgery.
