Diabetes Month Events
Mount Nittany Health is proud to announce the following events in honor of National Diabetes Awareness Month.
You can also tune in for interviews with our diabetes experts on the radio (95.3 FM 3WZ, Tuesdays, Nov. 18 and 25 at 9:40 am and Thursdays, Nov. 20 and 27 at 3:20 pm) and television (WTAJ-TV 10, Thursdays, Nov. 20 and 27 at 4:00 pm) throughout November.

#bluelight Social Media Contest
Mount Nittany Health is sponsoring a community challenge for individuals to raise awareness of diabetes. Those who take a photo of their business or home (or a room in their business/home) that features a blue light for diabetes awareness will receive a small gift if the photo is posted on the Mount Nittany Health Facebook page (facebook.com/MountNittany) with hashtag #bluelight.

Free Diabetes Day Event
Mount Nittany Health is a community sponsor of this event, featuring free blood sugar checks, foot screenings, dental screenings, eye exams, meet-the-pharmacist and exercise and nutrition information at Centre Volunteers in Medicine, 2520 Green Tech Drive, State College, PA 16803. This event is open to the public, though individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes are strongly encouraged to attend. Pre-register by calling 814.234.6727.

Diabetes Support Group – Senior Center
A free support group for people with diabetes and their loved ones, held at the Centre Region Senior Center (131 S. Fraser Street #1, State College, Pa.). For more information, call 814.231.7194.
Diabetes Support Group, featuring a special cooking demonstration
Featuring a special cooking demonstration and tastings by Jane Wilson, this is a free support group for people with diabetes and their loved ones. Jane will demonstrate easy to prepare healthy foods with minimal ingredients that participants can then prepare at home. For more information, call 814.231.7095.
Mount Nittany Health Facilities Lit Blue
On this evening, Mount Nittany Medical Center and various Mount Nittany Health facilities will be lit blue in support of World Diabetes Day. Hoss’s, Bryce Jordan Center, the Centre County Courthouse and others will also be lit blue.
