Positron Emission Tomography
A PET scan measures important body functions, such as blood flow, oxygen use, and glucose metabolism. This helps physicians evaluate how well organs and tissues are functioning. CT scans are often used with PET scans to provide images that pinpoint abnormal metabolic activity with the body.
