CT Scan
Intro Copy
Mount Nittany Medical Center was the first site in Pennsylvania to use the General Electric Lightspeed 16-slice Computed Tomography (CT) scanner.
Patient exam times are drastically reduced due to the scanner’s fast and accurate scanning ability. This technology enables more detailed image analysis, and radiologists can make faster, more precise diagnoses, meaning that patients will receive treatment more quickly.
CT scanning has the unique ability to image a combination of soft tissue, bone and blood vessels to diagnose a wide array of illnesses and injuries. CT makes it possible to more accurately diagnose certain diseases and injuries of internal organs, and to examine regions of the body such as the spine, chest and abdomen.
