Clinical trials offer cancer patients new treatments that have been developed after long and painstaking research processes. Still, there can be no certainties with any new approach, thus the need to continue to study the new therapies. Cancer patients treated on well-organized clinical trials, in general, do as well or better than patients receiving “standard” treatments, particularly in difficult cancers where traditional treatments have not had a high success rate.
