Maternity Services

Welcoming a new baby is a wonderful experience for each member of a family.

Family-centered maternity care is encouraged at Mount Nittany Medical Center and includes private, home-like birthing rooms for labor, delivery and recovery. The father or support person may stay during labor and delivery.

Nurses work closely with patients to provide answers to questions and guidance throughout the stay. Mother/baby nursing care and rooming-in allow the baby to be cared for in the mother's room.

The Post-Partum Unit boasts 11 private rooms and a unique "Special Birth Day Dinner" that Nutrition and Culinary Services provides to each new family. This special meal is served at lunch or dinner, with restaurant-style amenities. Free "babysitting of the newborn" is also offered, compliments of the nursery!

Grandparents
& Siblings:		11:30 am–8:00 pm
Other Visitors:4:00 pm–8:00 pm
Quiet Time:1:00 pm–3:00 pm
No visitors please. Our new families need time to rest and bond.
