The successful candidate must be a graduate of accredited Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner programs and hold valid and current state licensure. A minimum of three years professional nursing experience in a clinical setting and two years of nurse practitioner experience preferred. Other requirements include knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical practice and care protocols, knowledge of physician office procedures, medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT coding guidelines and skills in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care. Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations are a must.
Mount Nittany Physician Group, a group of more than 65 physicians providing primary and specialty care and part of Mount Nittany Health has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant located in our Neurology practice in State College, PA. We are extremely proud of the team we've assembled and the level of care they consistently provide to our community.
This position will be responsible for providing specialty care services to patients including performing assessments, diagnoses and prescriptions of medical therapeutic corrective measures in collaboration with physicians in all clinical venues. Other responsibilities include performing complete physical examinations, obtaining patient’s medical history, interpreting and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, collaborating with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of our patients as well as using the electronic health record to document and bill for services rendered.
This is a full time position with both hospital inpatient and office outpatient responsibilities. This position will also participate in stroke care and be involved in any research projects being done in conjunction with other departments or with Penn State.
