High school diploma or equivalent. Previous training in Occupational Medicine preferred. CPR certification; certification in legal drug and alcohol testing required. One year of medical office and patient care experience required. Experience working in Occupational Medicine preferred.
Provide care to patients as directed by the physician or nurse practitioner, including preparing patients for examination, administering medications and assisting the medical providers with procedures, treatments, and performing various tests and diagnostics. Preparing patients for examiniation and treatment including taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, height, weight, visual acuities and in in-house urinalysis. Certified in legal drug testing, urine and hair sampling, breath alcohol testing and accurately records chain of custody. Performs and documents various tests and procedures including EKGs, audiograms, spirometry and bedside glucose testing. Obtain blood samples for various testing as requested by specific employers. Administers non-controlled prescribed medications, vaccines and tuberculin skin tests under the direction of the medical providers.
May require travel to employee job sites for exams and/or diagnostic testing. May require early morning and/or evening hours as requested by employers.
