Two years purchasing experiencing preferred. Previous computer experience with knowledge in inventory systems, data entry and data base maintenance preferred. Knowledge of organizational and office management policies, procedures and systems. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, filing and recordkeeping. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of computers and relevant software. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to work under pressure with time constraints and interruptions. Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively and to read, understand and follow written and verbal instruction. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in business or related field preferred. Current, valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Assists in the coordination of the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services at the appropriate levels to meet departmental and patient needs. Acts as an authorized agent for Mount Nittany Physician Group for the purchase of supplies, equipment and services as directed by the Materials Manager. Buys a diversified range of technical and non-technical supplies as requested. Maintains standing orders to ensure there is a continuous flow of supplies through renewing/terminating standing orders as necessary under the direction of the Materials Manager. Assists in maintaining all computer pricing, vendor and purchasing information. Approves invoice discrepancies for payment in a timely and efficient manner relative to the purchase made by the buyer. Works in conjunction with department and practice managers regarding specifications (i.e. quality, quantity) and delivery requirements for purchase requests of non-stock supplies. Meets with vendor representatives when necessary. Assists Materials Manager with product recalls as needed.
