The Executive Director has overall responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, and marketing of the Surgical Services service line in accordance with Mount Nittany Medical Center's mission, vision, and long-range strategic plan. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that services provided will be cost effective, and compliant with current patient care standards for the Department of Health, Joint Commission, and other accrediting agencies. Will have overall responsibility for surgical services provided in two locations, Mount Nittany Medical Center and Mount Nittany Surgical Center. The service line includes the following departments: OR, PACU, Pretesting, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, IV Team, Endoscopy Unit, and anesthesia support services. The main OR has 7 rooms and free standing surgical center has 4 rooms. Due to growth and expanded services planning has begun for construction of additional operating roooms in the main OR. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring assigned services are provided 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
