Tis the Season for Allergies

  • Prevent indoor allergies by washing bedding often and reduce dust mites, which thrive in humidity, with a de-humidifier.
  • Oral antihistamines and decongestants can be taken on an as-needed basis to treat symptoms of allergies.
  • Over-the-counter nasal sprays can also prevent symptoms if used before exposure.
  • Prescription topical nasal steroids and nasal sprays treat allergy symptoms effectively. Talk to your physician about the various options.
  • Those with heart or blood pressure disorders and diabetics should always consult their physician before beginning any over-the-counter medication.
