Stopping Sugar Before It Stops You: Pre-Diabetes Screening and Advice

Jan Ulbrecht, MD, a Penn State diabetes expert, medical director of the Mount Nittany Diabetes Foot Clinic, and endocrinologist at Centre Medical & Surgical Associates, will host an open forum of questions and answers on diabetes and pre-diabetes. During the program Dr. Ulbrecht will also discuss insulin resistance and how if affects the body, diabetes risk factors and steps to preventing diabetes. Also joining the conversation from Penn State will be Lynn Parker Klees, RN, CDE, and Danielle Downs, PhD. Additional sponsors for this program include People Centre’D on Diabetes and Penn State Institute for Diabetes and Obesity.

The screening and program will be held on Monday, March 22. A limited number of pre-diabetes screenings will be provided from 5:30-6:30 pm. The program will start at 6:30 pm in the Galen and Nancy Dreibelbis Auditorium at Mount Nittany Medical Center, accessible through entrance D at the rear of the Medical Center.
