  • Come up with a personalized plan to quit smoking
  • Stop carrying cigarettes with you: use oral substitutes such as lollipops, sunflower seeds or apples instead
  • Change behavior your associate with smoking, such as drinking alcohol or coffee
  • Be accountable: tell your family and friends you’re trying to quit so they can help encourage your progress
