Penn State Hershey medical student profile - Brittney Hacken

Brittney Hacken is from Mountain Top, Pa., and she studied biology, with minors in chemistry and psychology, at Indiana University in Bloomington, where she also played Division I field hockey.

Brittney is currently involved in research about exercise and weight loss as related to knee osteoarthritis. She has volunteered her time at the Lion Care Bone and Joint Clinic in Hershey, is involved with the Ronald McDonald House and is currently the Community Service Co-Chair for the Penn State College of Medicine Class of 2014 Student Council.

"I was drawn to the ability to practice with doctors in a small community setting at the regional campus," said Hacken. "The physicians I met prior to coming were very eager to teach students, and now that I am here, I have found that all the nurses and other medical providers are just as excited."

The Foundation’s 21st Annual Golf Tournament raised $150,000 for the new Cancer Center.
