Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation

The Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) as required by The Joint Commission is a routine monitoring of current competency for privileged practitioners. The Joint Commission requires that the evaluation encompass the following six general competencies:

* Patient care
* Medical / clinical knowledge
* Practice-based learning and improvements
* Interpersonal and communication skills
* Professionalism
* Systems-based practice

The Credentials Committee is finalizing the evaluation criteria that will be implemented in August 2008. Practitioners will be reviewed biannually and will receive routine feedback noting significant clinical activity. of obstetrics and gynecology. Two students will be in the Medical Center for six-week rotations throughout the year.

The Foundation’s 21st Annual Golf Tournament raised $150,000 for the new Cancer Center.
