Mount Nittany Health welcomes ten providers to Mount Nittany Physician Group’s newly created hospitalist program

Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the addition of ten hospitalists to Mount Nittany Physician Group’s newly created hospitalist program at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Thomas Covaleski, MD, medical director; Jonathan Siuta, MD, assistant director; Robert Coll, MD; Philippe Leveille, MD; Karen Paczkowski, MD; Ryan Ridenour, DO; Jessica Stevens, DO; Heidi Averill, PA-C; Sara Dungan, PA-C, and Ben Steward, PA-C, joined Mount Nittany Physician Group on January 1, 2014.

A hospitalist is a medical practitioner whose primary focus is taking care of patients in a hospital setting. When a patient is admitted to the hospital, the hospitalist will spend a great deal of time with the patient, gathering information and going over past health records in order to provide the best care possible while in the hospital.

Hospitalists communicate regularly with the patient’s family physician, and when the patient is ready to be sent home, all medical record information, treatment needs, dietary concerns, medication information and more is communicated with the family doctor, ensuring seamless, coordinated care.

Mount Nittany Physician Group hospitalists have extensive training and skills to provide excellent care, and are on site at Mount Nittany Medical Center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
