Internal Medicine Practice Joins Mount Nittany Physician Group

Mount Nittany is proud to announce the addition of Frank Guillard, MD, Paul Guillard, MD, and Joy Mattern, PA-C, to its physician group on November 1. Prior to joining the group, they practiced independently as Guillard Medical Group.

“Our focus is our patients, and we are confident that joining Mount Nittany’s physician group will keep that focus intact,” said Dr. Frank Guillard. “Our decision to join the group was made after considerable contemplation, but in the end; we concluded that this move is the best thing for our patients and our practice. We look forward to the future with Mount Nittany.”

A graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Dr. Frank Guillard completed his internship and residency at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, where he was chief medical resident in 1981. He is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine by The American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been practicing in State College since 1981.

Paul Guillard, MD, is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Guillard completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. He is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine by The American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been practicing in State College since 1997. Prior to joining Guillard Medical Group, he practiced at Medical Associates of Lehigh Valley in Allentown.

A 2000 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Joy Mattern, PA-C, received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Lock Haven University and received her certification from The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. During her studies, Mattern completed rotations in emergency medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, radiation oncology, family practice and primary care. She joined the practice in 2003.

Drs. Frank and Paul Guillard and Joy Mattern, PA-C will continue to provide care at 905 University Drive, State College.

The Foundation’s 21st Annual Golf Tournament raised $150,000 for the new Cancer Center.
