Working with Your Therapist
You’ll have regular sessions with your therapist. To get the most from these sessions, you need to be open and honest. You also must be willing to face your problems. And you must be willing to change. Sometimes your therapist will prescribe certain medications. These may help ease your symptoms as you go through therapy. If you have side effects from these medications, tell your therapist. Don’t stop taking them on your own.
How Long Does Therapy Take?
How long you spend in therapy depends on the kind of problem you have. For some problems, long-term therapy is needed. Other problems may respond to brief psychotherapy, about 12 sessions.
