Flu vaccine available at Mount Nittany Medical Center

Mount Nittany Medical Center is offering influenza vaccines to community members over the age of 18. To avoid the flu this season, Medical Center experts advise influenza vaccination as well as careful observance of respiratory etiquette.

Respiratory etiquette refers to covering the nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, using tissues and disposing of them properly after use, and performing hand hygiene. Hand hygiene includes cleaning hands with soap and water, an alcohol-based hand rub or an antiseptic handwash after coughing or sneezing and before and after eating. Those with contagious respiratory illnesses are also reminded to avoid public places as much as possible to help others stay healthy.

For more information on the flu and to schedule an influenza vaccination, contact the occupational health service department at 814.231.7094.
