Barbara Palmer Pledges $300,000 to The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center for Commitment to Distinction Campaign

The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center has announced that State College resident Barbara Palmer has pledged $300,000 to support Commitment to Distinction: The Campaign for Mount Nittany Medical Center.
The gift supports the construction of a cancer facility at Mount Nittany Medical Center. As a cancer survivor, Palmer knows the importance of having cancer care close to home.
“I want people to know that although cancer can exact its toll, hope still remains. I am confident that Mount Nittany Medical Center will continue to improve cancer care and that the very latest treatment options will continue to be available locally. I think that one of the most important parts of cancer treatment is to have people stay close to their families and friends,” said Palmer.
Knowing how valuable philanthropy can be in sustaining important programs and services, she decided to participate in the campaign and is a significant donor to the Medical Center. As a member of the Commitment to Distinction Steering Committee and the Board of Directors of The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center, Palmer plays a role in helping to advance healthcare in the region.
Commitment to Distinction is led by The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center under the direction of the Board of The Foundation and its Steering Committee.
