Hospital Compare
A service of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, this site helps you find information on how well hospitals care for patients with certain medical conditions or surgical procedures, and contains results from a survey of patients about the quality of care they received during a recent hospital stay.
The Joint Commission
Providing reliable information so you and your family can become an active participant in your healthcare decisions. Includes patient safety videos, quality check by healthcare provider, how to identify quality providers when traveling abroad and a searchable database of Join Commission disease-certified providers.
Pennsylvania Health Care Quality Alliance (PCHQA)
A coalition of Pennsylvania healthcare providers and insurers, PCHQA’s mission is to improve the quality of patient health by developing a consistent, uniform, statewide approach to hospital quality measures. This system enables consumers to compare hospital performance, allows healthcare professionals to evaluate and improve the quality of their patient care and helps insurers evaluate the performance of their provider networks.
Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4)
An independent state agency responsible for addressing the problem of escalating health costs, ensuring the quality of healthcare and increasing access for all citizens regardless of ability to pay. Provides reports on hospital performance, surgical procedures and hospital financials, among others.
