Since 1972, Mount Nittany Health has invested more than $215 million in facilities, technologies and equipment. We're currently in the process of completing a number of major capital improvement projects at Mount Nittany Medical Center that will drastically improve care in the region.
Projects in Progress
Emergency Department Expansion
An expansion of our Emergency Department is underway and on schedule to be completed in 2013. The project will add 26,000 square feet and renovate 14,000 square feet in the existing ED. An additional facility of approximately 12,000 square feet will be added for the paramedic garage in addition to office space for information technology and administrative employees.
Mount Nittany Health's Cancer Pavilion
Mount Nittany Health recently began construction on its comprehensive Cancer Pavilion. The project will include renovation of the existing Health Services Wing and the addition of 28,000 square feet adjacent to and on top of the wing.
The East Wing
In 2009, Mount Nittany Medical Center was reaching full capacity on a regular basis. Given the growing demand for healthcare in the region, Mount Nittany Medical Center partnered with a community in need of care to expand the Medical Center. In August 2010, Mount Nittany Medical Center opened the state-of-the-art east wing, a 52,000-square-foot addition that increased the Medical Center's capacity to 260 beds. The patient rooms were custom-designed not only for comfort but to improve the quality of care that Mount Nittany Medical Center provides.
